Looking through Grow A Garden 2's Gear shop, you'll come across a suspicious character in the list of useable items: a Gnome. This mischievous red-eyed miscreant may seem like a menace, but he's actually a little saint. By placing him down, he'll act as a deterrent to any late-night visitors trying to yoink your best crops.
If you want to know what exactly he does and how best to use him, we've put together a guide on how to use Gnomes in Grow A Garden 2, so you can keep your crops safe and make a mechanical new pal in the process.
In this guide:
What do Gnomes do in Grow A Garden 2?
Gnomes are used in Grow A Garden 2 to protect your crops against other players when they try to rob you. After placing them, they'll chase after any players who enter your garden after dark, hitting them until they're dead. Morbid, but I like these guys' style.
Annoyingly, though, they aren't a permanent fix to your robbery issue. Once placed down, they'll hang around for ten minutes before disappearing to do Gnome stuff, making them a temporary measure that won't permanently dissuade nearby robbers from helping themselves to your harvest. That means the best time to use them is directly after the sun goes down, so you get the most out of your ten-minute bodyguard service
How to get Gnomes in Grow A Garden 2
You can buy Gnomes for 100,000 Sheckles from the Gear Shop when they're in stock. Gnomes don't come into the Gear shop often though, so if you want one, make sure to check the vendor's wares frequently so you don't miss them when they drop.
Are Gnomes worth the price?
For 100,000 Sheckles, you're probably wondering whether Gnomes are worth the purchase. Obviously, this is going to be relatively subjective, but for my two cents, no, not particularly.
As a temporary measure, they will be able to knock other players around if they try to rob you, but you can also just hang out in your garden overnight to prevent theft. Alternatively, you could open a private server on Grow A Garden 2 for free, which will let you and your friends hang out without any rogue player intervention (well, unless your friends are sneaky little creatures, like mine).
There are far better anti-burglar deterrents that don't cost a single Sheckle, even if the Gnomes are, indeed, very funny.
