Wondering how to get the Pollinated mutation in Grow A Garden? Mutations are truly wondrous things in Grow A Garden - simply leave the game running idly in the background and watch as cool things happen to your crops. For the Pollinated mutation, you can thank the bees that were added to Grow A Garden via the June 2025 Working Bees update for giving you the means to create sweet Honey.
In this guide, we'll explain how to get the Pollinated mutation in Grow A Garden, breaking down exactly what you need to know to ensure that your crops are swarming with bees.
How to get Pollinated mutation in Grow A Garden
The Pollinated mutation is actually very simple to acquire - you just need to be playing Grow A Garden during a Swarm event. These happen every hour on the hour thanks to the Queen Bee, who hangs out in the centre of the main Grow A Garden plot of land.
To see how long it'll be until the next Swarm event starts, take a peek at the timer above the large hive next to the Queen Bee.
When a Swarm event occurs, bees fly to all of the gardens for about 20 minutes and give random crops the Pollinated mutation. If this happens to one of your crops, it'll turn yellow and you'll get a message with an oddly placed comma atop your screen which reads: "A fruit in your garden, mutated to Pollinated!"

If you'd rather not wait around for pollination to naturally occur via a Swarm, you can try pollinating your own crops with a Bee pet. There are four types of Bee pets you can acquire, each of which can be hatched from the Bee Egg, which is purchasable if you trade with the Queen Bee, giving her 18 Honey or 129 Robux.
These Bee pets all confer the Pollination mutation once per cooldown. We've listed each Bee below, along with their chances of hatching from a Bee Egg and their cooldown timers:
Pet Name | Chance of Hatching | Pollination Cooldown |
---|---|---|
Bee | 65% | 24 min 45 sec |
Honey Bee | 25% | 19 min 43 sec |
Petal Bee | 4% | 24 min 49 sec |
Queen Bee | 1% | 24 min 37 sec |
Personally, I've found it easier to wait for Swarms to naturally occur, since it's a fair bit of work to acquire a Bee Egg, and it takes approximately 4 hours and 10 minutes for a Bee Egg to hatch. But if you want to have a buzzing buddy around your garden, go for it - and it's admittedly cool to have your very own pet Queen Bee!
And that's a wrap on getting the Pollinated mutation in Grow A Garden. It's a bit random and requires waiting around, but such is the nature of an addicting idle game.
