Trying to get into the locked Goblin Cave in The Forge? As you may have realised by now, that's not going to be an easy feat. The entrance to the Goblin Cave is only opened after completing a long, time-consuming quest in this blacksmithing Roblox RPG, and even worse, you'll be completing it for the snooty ruler watching guard over it: The Goblin King.
Truth be told, this guy sucks. He'll waste your time, resources and precious, precious cash before he lets you inside his cave. However, there are rewards worthy of how much of a royal pain in the ass he is. Namely, Tomo's Cat, which will help you finally turn in the quest Tomo gave you back in Stonewake's Cross. So, let's get you through that door by running down how to complete the Goblin King quest in The Forge.

How to start the Goblin King quest
Your first step is to actually find the Goblin King. He's located in the Forgotten Kingdom, which you can only access after reaching Level 10 and completing the prologue quest for Sensei Moro.
After both requirements are met, you'll be able to teleport to the Forgotten Kingdom via your portal. When you arrive, you'll find the Goblin King's camp by following the path through town, taking a left when you reach the Forge and continuing until you spot two orcs crossing their axes over the entrance to an encampment on your right.
You can walk between the two orcs and, ahead, you'll see a face you'll soon come to loathe. The Goblin King. Head up to this conniving creature's throne and speak to him to begin the quest.
How to get Topaz, Emeralds, Diamonds, and cash
Although this quest has several different steps and objectives, it's easier to list out the first four steps at once, as we'll be completing them the exact same way. Essentially, the Goblin King will ask you for money and rare ores. The money and the rarity of the ores will climb each time you return. The first four are:
- Bring the Goblin King $5,000.
- Bring the Goblin King $10,000 and 3 Topaz.
- Bring the Goblin King $15,000 and 5 Diamonds.
- Bring the Goblin King $20,000 and 5 Emeralds.
Each subsequent objective will task you with tracking down rarer ores and higher sums of cash, but all of these ores can be found from the same source. You need to mine Basalt Core rocks until you’ve stocked up on the ore you need, and then bring them with the required coins to the Goblin King.
If you want my advice, there are a few ways to really speed up this process. First, buy a ton of luck potions from the shop in town and chug those bad boys like they're an ice-cold Pepsi Max. They give you five minutes of boosted luck, which we’ll definitely need.
To give you some perspective, everytime you mine a Basalt Core rock, there's a 1 in 143 chance you'll find Topaz, a 1 in 192 chance that you'll find a Diamond and a 1 in 363 chance that you'll find Emerald. In other words, not high odds, but the luck potions will increase those chances by 20%.
Another good pointer that saved me a ton of time was to only mine Basalt Cores that I knew contained the gems I needed. About halfway through chipping into a rock, you'll be able to see the drops that are inside. If what you're seeing isn't Topaz, Diamond or Emerald, ditch it and move to the next rock unless you're looking to scrounge up other ores. It'll streamline the process significantly.
As for how to make cash fast, drumming up 20k is probably going to take a little while. But, while you're mining, you're sure to accrue other resources. Most of them won't be too valuable, but instead of selling them singularly, clean out your inventory by jamming a ton of useless ores into the Forge and making items like Heavy Helmets and Heavy Chestpieces. They'll sell for much higher prices, so you can make an easy 1k if you nail the forging process. My endless wealth was mostly stocked from dragging around such a surplus of Cobalt that I could sacrifice 30 to the Forge and make a valuable item every time I was in town.
When you have the resources and cash you need, take them back to the Goblin King and turn them in. After doing that for each objective, he'll ask for one final step before he can take all our money and set sail to drink margaritas in the Bahamas on our dime.
The Goblin King quest: Cash and Rubies
The final step of the Goblin King's quest is to secure $25,000 cash and 5 Rubies. Depending on how much you've invested in your gear, you might not have come across a Ruby up to this point, and that's because they're only found inside Basalt Vein rocks, which you can't mine without the right gear.
To break them open, you need to use a Pickaxe capable of dealing 78 damage. Most of the cheap pickaxes you'll find are not able to break Basalt Veins. The cheapest one capable of smashing these rocks to pieces is the Mythril Pickaxe, which costs $67,500 from the Forgotten Kingdom Pickaxe shop.
That's a hefty chunk of change, but if you can afford it, grab one and then head to the Ashen Passage inside the Ruined Cave, and you'll find Basalt Veins to mine. Once again, drink a few luck potions to enhance your odds (a Ruby has a 1 in 487 chance of dropping) and get to chipping away.
When you have five Rubies, take them back to the Goblin King and hand them over to complete his quest. He'll laugh maniacally, then disappear, never to be seen again.
Rewards for completing the Goblin King Quest
Now that the Goblin King has finally fled to sit on his pile of newly-acquired generational wealth, you'll get your rewards.
Completing the quest nets you a big experience boost, but the main reward is found on the Goblin King's throne. By searching the regal seat, you'll find a key which you can pick up and insert into the locked door in the back right-hand corner of the camp.
This door leads to the Goblin Cave, where you'll find a bunch of new ores to collect, slimes to fight and, most importantly, Tomo's Cat.
You're now ready to explore the Goblin's Cave while trying not to think too hard about the thousands upon thousands of coins you spent getting inside. When you're done exploring, why not take a moment to slack after slaving away tracking down rare gems and get some free resources using our The Forge codes? They'll earn you some free lucky spins, which you can use to change your race. If you need extra help doing that, we've also got a full guide breaking down how to reroll your Race. But, if you're thinking of jumping over to a different game instead, you can always take a look at our full list of Roblox guides here.
